No For You tab. No trends. No "who to follow", no Premium upsells, no reposts if you don't want them — and a timeline that uses the width of your screen instead of a strip down the middle.

The Twitter / X card is open by default and already switched on. Sensible defaults are applied the moment you install.
Add replies, quote posts, view counts or Grok to the list of things you never see again. The tab updates as you click.
Grouped the way the popup groups them. The defaults column is what you get without touching anything.

X renders its timeline at a fixed width designed for a laptop from several years ago. On a modern monitor that leaves a strip of content between two empty margins — and X fills one of those margins with the things you came here to remove.
Removing the rail without widening the feed just gives you a narrower page with more grey around it. The wide centred feed is on by default for that reason: take the trends away, then let the posts have the room.
The Design Studio recolours what's left — background, text, accent and icon colour, typeface, corner radius and content width, set separately for X and for YouTube. Seven ready-made themes ship with it, including a true-black OLED one. That part is Pro; everything above it is not.
X has no setting for it. An extension hides the panel in your browser — here, Hide trends is on by default and takes the "What's happening" sidebar with it.
Yes, and separately. Reposts are hidden by default; replies and quote posts are their own switches, so you keep whichever you still want to see.
Hide "For you" takes the tab off the timeline bar. If you are sitting on it when the switch goes on, X is moved to Following once — hiding the control without that would leave you on the algorithmic feed with no way off it.
Both domains are matched, whichever one your browser lands on.
Permanently — every filter, every layout switch, no account. The YouTube side is free too. Pro exists for the Design Studio.
Same extension, other half: remove YouTube Shorts, recommended videos and end screens.
